I ordered a small, tank raised blue tang last week from LiveAquaria. Never received an email letting me know it shipped, no tracking number, nothing... So I assume it hasn't shipped yet. Website says if you order on Thursday it ships Monday and should arrive Tuesday and that you'll receive an email when it ships. Monday comes and goes, no email. Tuesday I'm at work and no email. Just to follow-up I emailed the company to inquire and they get back to me shortly after and say they forgot to email me the shipping notice, we see it was delivered.... 5 hours ago! It was the end of my work so I go straight home. It sat in the Florida heat for 5+ hours. Get the little guy acclimated then into the QT. We're about 14 hours in and he's still very lathargic, doesn't really swim around just stays in one spot by the pump pick up tube (pump is off for the video so no, he's not stuck to it)
. Any ideas, thoughts on what to do? Thank you.

For the next day, Keep the room and tank lights dim. You can also cover the side(s) of the tank with dark paper to help keep it more comfortable.
The big test will be if it eats - if it does, then the shipping issue didn’t cause any lasting damage.

That looks like a brand new tank - be sure to monitor the ammonia level!

Thanks for the advice, I'll follow that. It's a "new" tank in the sense that it's a cleaned out quarantine tank, but yes, I'll monitor ammonia, etc. through the process. At what point should I try to introduce food? Maybe later today (4+ hours from now)?

These guys are one of the most bashful of fish in the marine hobby and will even lay sideways, play dead and show stress spots. Likely what you are seeing and good advice from Jay as to getting it settled in

I can confirm mine is quite shy, hides often, and when I picked it up from the LFS, when they went to catch it, it just laid on its side and played dead.

Hopefully it will eat soon!

Read up about LiveAquaria, i personally will not buy from them.

It was my first purchase from them. I emailed them back to say I was disappointed in the lack of communication on shipping and haven't heard anything. Hopefully the fish is OK. Have the tank covered and in a darkened room. I'll try to feed him later today.
