My tank is plumbed through a wall with sump/control/ato in unfinished area so I have plenty of room. I'm thinking of purchasing a 15g container/drum with plastic lid from Amazon made of HDPE in this link.

I just wanted to ask if this material (HDPE) is good for storing RO water with no ill effects or chance of leaching chemicals into the water. Hydros full/empty water sensors & ato pump will control it & pump is set to shut off if it runs for more than 3 minutes. I'm currently using a 5g bucket for ato container & I have to fill it sometimes twice a week. I have a vacation coming up & I'll be gone for a week & no one here to fill the current ato bucket. 200g tank, 240g total system volume.

Thank you R2R!

Polyethylene is just fine for your Aquarium. I'd just give it a good cleaning because it might have the mold release compounds on it. Otherwise, pretty much any LDPE or HDPE would be fine. Might wish to check out Craigslist or MarketPlace for local folks selling plastic drums. We have loads of choices in NJ, and typically 10 - 20 buckets for 55 gallon drums.
