I have been looking for a Blasto for awhile so I got this one......
It's an A&M wholesalers aquaculture frag......I traded a few frags of some pink palys for it, still not entirely sure if it is an Merleti or a Wellsi......there are about 15 polyps on it....

Don't Merleti grown on long skinny coralites? and Wellsi grows on large heavy base correct....I haven't had one in a while like 15 years...So I couldn't remember......Thanks guy's/gal's, I like the fact that it is aquacultured as well.....

I believe that is correct Azurel. Also wellsi are much larger and puffier (is that a word?) and merletti are much smaller and flatter.

I think submassive and columnar are the descriptions/differences (not positive on that-numerous beers by the pool today aid my foundation for eductaion on this;)). merletti's typically grow columnar, though I've had a few that seemed more submassive than columnar, but were small like merletti's. wellsi's are more submassive.

It's def a merletti. Have the same one. It's growing like crazy. Started off with 4 heads, now have 8. They do like to expand. You will love this guy. Mine eats small pieces of mysis.

Depending on the amount/type of light it will get more bluish teal and loose the redish around the sides!
