Sounds good! Dont get me wrong, I love my xr30s. They grow corals! There are many supplemental bars around these days one can add for fill too.
Oh, I forgot, while I’m uncertain if I’ll use them, I did order XR30 High Intensity Lens Kits. I’ve never used them before, but ordered anyway.

I’m not using fine reef sand… using the live sand from TBS. I’m hoping it’ll stay, but will find another option of not. Thanks for the info though!!!
What did you do as far as flow goes? The other option I was considering are two Gyre XF350’s and two MP60’s. I haven’t ordered yet…
I used special grade but also crushed coral in high flow areas. Still didn’t work for me. Now I’m running 2 mp60 on the back wall with a 350 gyre on the far end. Still have bare spots in the middle of the tank.

I’m getting some sand and rock rubble from TB on Tuesday to add some good biome. We will see if the sand sticks.

Well, I placed more orders than I can count. It’ll all start flowing in tomorrow and the rest of this week. The tank was to be delivered today, but got a call from the incompetent delivery company saying they loaded the crates onto a truck with no liftgate. They’re now delivering it tomorrow.

I’ve ordered two VarioS 10 Reef Octopus Pumps for my return. I was going to go with vectras, but after reading some reviews, I changed my mind.

On my lighting, I’ve ordered 5 XR30 Pro Radions… but was being told I needed more. Originally I was going with Kessil. I LOVE the Kessil shimmer that mimics MH lighting. And so in addition to the radions, I’ve ordered 3 A500’s. I’m not exactly sure how I’ll mount them or how they’ll look with the Radions, but we shall see. Anyone else ever tried this?

Tomorrow my electrician is coming over to add more outlets and a couple more circuits as I’m sure I’ll net them. I also ordered one of the “new” Teco Seachill TK2000H which I imagine will need its own circuit.

I run four xr30 pros with quad reefbrites. Currently my radions are at 30% intensity and this is the par I’m getting on my Cade 1800 peninsula

You will have more than enough for sps.

Beautiful tank and Thanks for the info! Happy to see those PAR numbers! Yeah, I agree with you. Should more than enough light coverage.

Tank was just delivered. Nothing broken. All is as it should be. It’s always so different seeing them in person vs photos. It’s a massive aquarium. The sump is perfect. The cabinet/stand is brilliant.I couldn’t be happier.

Almost forgot. I also had an electrician out today to add more outlets and upgrade circuits to handle the load. Also added whole home surge protectors.

Just ordered a water storage tank. While certainly still pricey, it was actually less than I thought. Also met with a local aquarium/pond company who can handle all the plumbing and mixing station. It’ll be awesome!! I’ll be able to press a button and the tank will start draining into the sewer system and just as easily add new saltwater along with auto top off I’ll never need fill again. A ton more hardware arrived today. I love these reef beginnings!! It’s so exciting!!

Watching this thread closely. Looking good so far!
I’m curious what the abyzz installation is going to look like.

Dang… so much stuff. I’m soooo far over my budget, probably 250% over budget. C’est la vive!! It’s gonna be a great tank so maybe it’ll be

Today I uncrated the stand and tank. I have a team of movers coming tomorrow to get this thing indoors. Watching them move a 700lb plus aquarium is gonna stress me out. I’ve had 8 major back surgeries so all I’ll be able to do is stand and be fearful. The tank is just beautiful!! That 3/4in glass is amazing! The stand… I’ve never had a stand that was all glass and steel. I just love the layout and the build quality.

For my returns, I purchased two Reef Octopus VarioS-10 pumps, but had also purchased one Abyzz A200 that I had planned to use for pumping water from my mixing station to the tank. However, I found a great deal in a second A200, new in the box, on eBay and so I believe I’ll use the two Abyzz as my return pumps. I might just return the RO pumps and find another option for the mixing station.
