I'm considering a new build. Tank would be 60"x30"x24".

Would a Photon V2 50 with 2 LumenBar 48's be a good solution for this tank?

Hi,

One of the Photon 50-V2 would be a great fit for that size tank, and a set of the LumenBar48s would add that extra color POP when you want it.

I appreciate the input!

I haven't picked out a tank size yet but I just ordered a 50-V2.

My DT just isn't doing well with corals and just doesn't grow coralline. In the past I could take corals that weren't doing well and put them in my frag tank under a 16-V2 and they would recover. My frag QT also grew more coralline than my DT. I'm going to try changing out my current lights with the 50 and 16 (72" tank) and see if that helps. It may look a little odd with the asymmetrical fixtures but I can deal with that until I get the new tank.

Another quick question.

I'm going to look at custom mounting options. What size round stock are the supplied mounting legs? Are they 1/4"?

btw.. love the customer service. Can't believe I received a shipping notice within 1/2 hr of placing the order. That is impressive!

The mounting legs are 1/4", I bought some stock aluminum once to fit them to the lights and 1/4" fit perfectly.

You may want to go with a 50+ a 24- they have the same layout, whereas the 16 is slightly different. And that way you will essentially have one long light across the whole tank.

Thanks, this is what I thought but wanted to make sure.

I already have the 16 or I may have gone a different route. My frag tank did very well under the 16 when I had it set up which is why I wanted to use your lights on my DT. The 50 and 16 together is just to get me through for a few months while I get ready for a new system.

How long is the lumenbar48 and how many watts is it? Is there any violet or all cree royal blues?

The LumenBar48 is 115cm, or 45" long. They are 50watts total (180 rated watts as it uses 36 5watt LEDs run at just over 1watt each for efficiency). So 2 of those will add almost 50% power to a Photon 48-V2. Right now they are all 450nm- the V2s already have a ton of violets.

I see on your website that they are dimmable to a few set percentages. Does this mean at 100% the leds are driven at a max of 1+ watts?
