New Clown Fish

Just bought 2 little clown fish last night, and put them in my display and my girlfriend was looking at them and said it looked like they were struggling, i got 2 hydor 750's and a maxi jet 3000 for a return and the display size is 30.3 x 15.5 x 20.9 would there be to much flow for them, i really don't think so, but i thought id get an opion

I dont think flow is the issue you should be fine there. I would guess there just a little stressed do to change in water conditions, being chased and caught and just a new environment. Hopefully they are looking a lot better today and just keep a eye on them and make sure there eating. Best of luck!!

My maroon clowns always look like they're swimming up a harsh current, but they're just little showoffs.

One thing to keep in mind with clowns is that they are poor swimmers. Also, they are not open water swimmers like other fish (angels, tangs, etc). They can handle the flow, but they swim differently than other fish.

In my experience and seeing clownfish on video's and at local fish stores is that clownfish have an odd way of swimming, they tend to "groove" so to speak. And if they've hosted they don't typically swim very far from what they host.

ok great! yeah i thought i might kill them from exhaustion ha ok, and i bought some mysis, should i be feeding every day or once a day, or is it a touch and go thing?

I feed my clowns a tiny bit each day. They get the leftover food from when I feed my seahorse tank. Also, it is a great idea to feed a variety of foods including foods that have algae (emerald entree is what I sometimes feed). Clowns are omnivores and should have algae as a part of their diet.
