I just bought a elegance coral 6 days ago it was doing good until today. I got home from work and noticed only half of it was open and some slime was coming off the closed side . I also noticed 3 dead hermit crabs in tank . I put it in a low flow and medium light area of the tank I also gave it some rods food 2 days ago. I took it out and did a dip on it and also noticed some pinkish red spiky things growing on its skeleton. I cleaned them off too and put it back in aquarium.

Is there anything I can do to save it also will it kill anything in aquarium if its dying? Seems odd to find the dead hermit crabs. I did a test of all my water parameters yesterday they were good.

Any pics and tank parameters?

Picture is kinda useless now I just did a dip on it so it's all closed up right now but the right hand side of it was closed up and slimy. The slim is going away a little on the right side but the left has some now . Probably the stress from the dip but I don't know
