Hello all, new to R2R (well, I’ve posted before, but new to starting a thread). Thought I’d post and document my journey in to this new build. A little background first.

I started reefing back about 30 years ago when I jumped into a 40 gallon saltwater tank. I remember having a wet/dry filtration system, purchased metal halide and really had no idea what I was doing. Gave it up after tank overflowed in parents house, not fun.

got back into hobby in 2018 when I setup a 20 gallon AIO (still running), and this year got the itch to upgrade, hence this thread. Here are some pics of my current 20 AIO (Innovative Marine). Was going to tear this down once new build got up and running but I might keep now and maybe turn into Anemone tank, don’t know.

So, I got my FC 76EXT delivered this past Monday after ordering it back on May 26th. After much research I chose this package because it seemed like the most complete out there and I liked the sump and external overflow as compared to Waterbox and Red Sea Reefers (plus it was much cheaper). Also loved the dimensions of it being a shallow reef where others were standard 22”-24” deep tanks. Below are pics of how it came delivered and the progression to building the stand and mounting the tank. This is currently where it sits.

Congrats on the new tank. What sump did you go with?

Nice. On my 81 I went with the 24 instead of the 20. The 30 would ve nice but I don't have room for an external ato reservoir.

The package comes with the 24” sump, I upgraded to the 30” (more water volume) only cost $60 additional
I plan to run 2 AI Prime HD on tank and have purchased the Sicce Syncra SDC 6.0 WiFi Controllable Pump (530-1450 GPH), have a 200W Titanium Heater, InkBird, and plan to purchase skimmer (still undecided as to which one, Red Sea 300SK or Aquamaxx ConeS)

Yeah, was a little disappointed that the ATO does not have a lid, I have designed one and purchased with Octo Aquatics, once I get it I’ll let you know if it’s worth purchasing, cost me $45 shipped.

Nice. I am going to be running 2 hydra 32s and a great white gw5 skimmer.

Unique corals is the only one in the states that carries them. They are produced by dalua out of Australia. The gw5 is $329 and the gw7 (DC version) is $429

I think you can also buy it directly on the Dalua website. I was looking at their return pump before I went with Sicce. I’ve heard good things about them, how would u compare it to the Red Sea, Aquamaxx?

I personally have never used an insurance skimmer. But after alot of research both on here and YouTube the build quality and noise levels are supposed to be better with the gw5. They are a bit more expensive but it's going in the living room so I want it to be quiet as well as perform.

Its a good feeling!

A truck pulling up to your house and delivering an aquarium. Congratulations! :)
Yes, they gave me a delivery window of 12-6 pm (this after being delayed 2 days), and wouldn’t you know it, that truck arrived at 6:15 pm
