Welcome to R2R! I would advise against cutting it. The brace is there to support the tank and help bear the pressure of the water.

Since it is a curved front and otherwise relatively small tank it is unlikely structural. Why not remove the whole plastic top thing?

+1 vote No do not remove manufacturer bracing as likely designed that way to compensate for thin walls or something else... removal may risk tank failure

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Didn’t cut out the brace but I am one step closer today. Got to figure out how to build me an ro unit then I can start cycling. I know I can buy a cheap ro on Amazon but I’d rather make my own.

Okay I’ve had my tank up and going for about two months now. Just wondering what the brown on my rocks and sand bed is. Can’t find anything really similar in other posts.

That looks like the first ugly stage started. I would recommend though start a new tread outside of this for this as people tend to say hello here only but never coming back again.
