I got a new light about a month ago for my tank and it started growing algae fast where I now have to deep clean it once a week before it was once every two weeks almost. Is there anything I could do?it is a bright light and I if I can I don’t want to purchase a new one. Thank you !

Since thats freshwater, there isn't much you can do about it. You can try some ottos. I hear people have good luck with that. Otherwise, add more plants and some driftwood and you could and some shrimp. They work about as well as you're going to find.

Change some water. If algae is an issue, then the N and P in your water is more to blame than the lights... algae will grow under nearly any light.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
