New light upgrade?

Currently have an IM 40 nuvo. It’s a 24 inch x 20 inch x 19 inch. Thinking about upgrading the light. Have a AI Prime Hd running on it at the moment. I’ve been thinking about maybe adding another ai prime. Or perhaps getting an aquatic life t5 hybrid to use with the prime. And the last option is to just get a new light in general. Budgets about 300 give or take.

I have a 24x24x24 cube and I want a kessil a160 which used you could probably find for about $150-200. Then controller and mount is about $140. Just my two cents.

I think you are on the right track. Use the Prime you already have and either get another or add it to the Aquatic Life Hybrid fixture. I don't think you could go wrong with either one, though IMO T5+LED would be the better option.

ended up going with the t5 hybrid so let’s see how that goes for my tank

The T5 LED Hybrid is an awesome combination! I have 2 of the 36” hybrid fixtures mounted over my 165 with 2 Hydra 26 and 8 T5 bulbs. The light spread is beautiful.

I have an AI prime hd. Also ended up going with 2 blue plus, 1 purple plus and 1 true actinic
