Hey All

New to the forum and reefing. Started my build last June. Here are the details. Red Sea Max Nano (1st GEN) Peninsula. Swapped the ATO out for a Tunze 3152 and that took a dump on me so I replaced with a much more reliable Ice Cap with a 3 gallon reservoir. Have a UV sterilizer, stock skimmer (seems to work fine) the Reef LED50 (I have in the box still the Kesssil with the the Spectral controller) I have a Helios 100W set to 77 F and I have the white cabinet. I used Carib Sea Arag-Alive sand and Life Rock (Dry). I cycled with Fritz 9 to pop the tank. Everything has been fairly smooth I have some stories about Red Sea, Tunze a hospital tank, fish deaths and various other issues that were stress inducing but taught me patience. Anyways here's some pictures. The bad ones are before I got my filter. My test kits are the Hanna Multiparameter for Phos and the AquaSpin for the rest. Yeah I have 2 grand in test equipment. But the Aquaspin came with a free case so it was worth it:squinting-face-with-tongue::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Here is another with the filter and about 3 months later

Water parameters are just slightly out of whack on the phos. I'm working that as we speak. I need to get a doser to manage my alk rather than doing it by hand, that is such a pain. Only have 3 fish, 1 Black storm, 1 Picasso I think and a Blue Hippo Tang. Yeah I know that tank is too small, but not for the little guy right now but he has a future home already when the time comes. My LFS guy has a spot in his home 300 tank. I just recently added the clowns back to the tank after running it fallow for over a month to get rid of some parasites. Everything responded pretty well, so I am happy.

Anyways that's about it from SLC, UT

OK All,

Time for another update. I started this tank on June 25th. I have added some before and after stuff plus some new additions to the tank, like Marcus the Mandarin, some corals and my Bully Diamond Goby who immediately dug a burrow and displaced Mr. Crabs, my Blue Fiddler. So here it is.

Hope you like

Well it has been 5 months and my tank is now trashed. There is a leak somewhere that's going into the cabinet and on the floor behind the tank and this has happened 3 different times (4 if you count this morning). It's been difficult with this tank. The back wall of the DT (or the front wall of the sump) separated from the side glass at the filter sock. Then the return pump bulkhead where all the hardware passes through the wall fell apart during cleaning and broke a brittle internal gasket so that no longer has a secure fit. I initiated a warranty claim today but don't feel confident I will get satisfactory answers. To add icing on the point of sale cake is my tank is a Gen1 when I ordered a Gen2. I had to take a display model because my LFS couldn't get it shipped in time for my move and never told me it was a GEN1. I think they were glad to get rid of it.

I will be picking up a Biocube 32 tonight. Spending more money than I need too I am sure. Hopefully all will work out with R.S. Come on Red Sea, don't fail me now!!
