Greetings from the UK!
So after a break of a few years I’m back with a new tank. In the past I’ve had a 4 foot, 3 foot and 2 foot tank, but due to work and housing circumstances, had to close them down for a while.
Back in the day I had horrible luck with ich leading to two full wipeouts. Always tangs, added as the last fishes. This time I’m doing it properly, some will say going over the top. Whilst I always QT’d fish I probably didn’t medicate properly, so this time I’ll have a separate tank for fish, and one for corrals.
A 2x2 rimless cube is the display tank, probably around 220L with sump. Deltec 1455 skimmer in the sump is wildly oversized so may have to be replaced depending if I can tune it in, but I have a hang on meant for a smaller tank that I may be able to get working if needs.
Flow is gonna be handled by a Gyre XF150, mounted vertically with each side pushing water in different directions. Lighting is x2 XR15 pro gen 3.
Everything is probably oversized for this tank, but it’s all stuff I had on hand so actually setting up again hasn’t been too expensive.
Currently the tank is empty with just bacteria ( Seachem Seed, microbacter7 ), and a prawn in there to give the bacteria something to work with. The QT tank arrives tomorrow so can get to getting some clowns in there soon!
Looking forward to sharing the journey with everyone, slow and steady is going to be the order of the day this time!
