Well I'm not sure welcome is appropriate any longer but your tank looks great! I would suggest you start a thread in the chemistry or general areas to get more views and opinions. Many do automatic water changes succesfully and surely it would help your situation. Have you looked at algae scrubbing or a Cheato fuge to reduce nutrients? Same concept as the reactor but simpler IMO.

Or would there be a better place to ask the question

Nice tank one day a Redsea reefer will be mine....if the wife can slowly be convinced :)
Thanks for postin up and sharing some pics. For tank an$ equipment questions probably get more views and answers in a different forum like general equipment perhaps. Best of luck sure you will get som3 good info from others who have been there done that

Include that photo
Here is what it looks like to me
Not my ideal sump i would just modify a 10-20gallon stock aquarium to be a sump to my liking

Like this if it makes sense

The small holes in black part are too high up I think they are 10inchs and return side is 10.5inces

Maybe just return hole needs to come down more

Or block off the hole to that return chamber and just use that as a freshwater area?

I believe this is how it was set up

Did you run it with a pump
The pump area will go lower if you run it with a pump

See how high the baffles are by the skimmer and see what hight your skimmer needs
That would be my deciding factor

I personally don’t like the setup of the sump seems a bit too cramped

Personally like i said buy a stock 20 gallon tank put some baffles and be done with it
Petco has a $1 per gallon sale 4 times a year once every quarter

Yea I'm worried about the size of the skimmer it's pretty large

Just realised I posted this one some one else thread on accident very sorry will place on mine and in proper section
