Hello,
(Day 1)
I'm going to dedicate this thread to my progression in building a new 12 gallon nano fluval tank. This is going to be my 2nd 12 gallon fluval nano tank. This tank arrived damaged (the top of the glass was broken). That being said I used it for my hermit crab that I had for over a year and passed away just recently who I really got attached to (RIP). So after some thought I decided I would attempt to remove the top and make a rimless nano tank.
I don't have much as far as equipment for it yet as I'm taking my time to build this one (and spent quite a lot on my other nano). I'm afraid that if I buy much more my wife might leave me :D. I love my first nano and its thriving but I felt like I needed to really put time into aquascaping and the build before jumping into it. I do have coming in tomorrow a Neptune jr. system that I plan to implement into this system.
I decided to go with the reefsaver rock from BRS. This rock is pretty amazing as far as looks and being able to create different looks. After many weeks of watching videos on aquascaping and reading forums I finally was able to get the rocks in a way I thought looked decent. I was also able to drill holes in the rock for frag plugs to sit flush and to move around easily.
I have a kessil a160we on my other nano but I think i'm going to attempt to go with the new kessil nano light.
I'll update as I progress.
