Here are a bunch of pictures I took today. My colors have really taken off lately since removing my refugium. Enjoy! Please excuse the ones where the focus is off a little. Most of these were taken under full day lights (8 x 36w T5 and reefbrite blues). There are a few that were taken under just the reefbrites (should be obvious which ones). More to come...

Gorgeous tank and great photo skills. I agree its patience, my coral now grow so fast that I had to learn how to frag :) Some of my coral took over two years to start growing, they were alive but never grew, thats a problem of the past now, just hit that sweet spot and then just maintain.

wow! tank looks amazing and i like your rock scaping. so what was it about removing your refugium that caused your colors to get better? or what was it about the refugium that wasnt allowing your corals to take on their full colorations? just curious

Well, I'm not entirely sure but I think it was starving my corals of nutrients. As soon as I removed it I replaced it with a new frag tank and I had a bried bloom of diatoms. There are studies out there that show that corals can consume diatoms so I dont know if it was just that they got a big feeding or a combination of both. I was growing a lot of cheato so I think it was just stripping the water of nutrients. Either way the colors continue to improve so I'm not running a fuge anymore.
