First off let me give you the story behind this nem. The piece I got is very small. About the size of a dime. This piece was an accident. My friend has a beautful BTA. I do not know if you would call it a rainbow or a flame. The face of it is blue and green. The tentacles are redish/pink with orange and yellow tips. Well about 2 1/2 weeks ago we cut it in half so he could sell half. Well we put have back in the rocks and the other half in a basket. A couple days after we cut it. The one in the basket tried to squeeze out of the basket. Well it could not do it. In the process of trying to get back in the basket it left a piece about the size of a dime outside the basket. Well it split that little piece off to be free. Now the little piece had no mouth and only about 10 little tentacles. We did not think it would make it but we left it alone. After 10 days of being apart. The little piece grew a mouth and actually would try and eat little pieces of shrimp. I have had it in my tank for 2-3 days now. It seems healthy. So I figured I would share a pic of the baby. Hopefully it makes it. The next week or two will be the test. It is crazy as so as I get home everynight I run to the tank to see how it is. Well here is the pic of the baby.

Sounds you get a sweet BTA in the making. Your friend definitely hooked you up. Keep us updated on the progression.

How big do you expect it to get in the next year or so?

my LFS tried to frag a sunburst, I'm assuming that's what you have, and they both died a few months later. Good luck with your grow out.

Well the mother was about 7-8" across before we cut her in half. Both full halts healed completely in about a week. That mother has been cut in half 4 times over the past year. So hopefully it will grow fast. Not sure how big or fast thetiny one will grow.

that's cool it amazes me how resilient animals from the ocean can be!

Very cool. I love how all these new colors come in, get cared for, and distributed to the rest of us down the road. (Hopefully ;-)

Wow Blazin that thing is looking like it is growing very nicely. Still amazed at how it came to be. Congrats!
