Shari, so you have your Hydras connected to your Apex through the new Iota option or do you control them through the AI app? Or did I ask that already?

So I have the new Apex controller board and programming to control the AI lights. Unfortunately, Apex has an issue with my enterprise level high speed internet router and does not yet have a workaround available to complete the control option. So, the Apex turned out to be non-useable for me to control my AI hydras due to my ISP internet at this time until Neptune’s programmers get their act together. But, the AI cloud works great and I was able to easily control the lights and utilize AI’s settings downloaded from the British site D&D.

@Sharisnewreeftank okay, so sounds like you're in the UK. Must be some comparability issues with internet technology?

No, I’m in the states. But, I love the work being done in the EU and England in their reef community. They have some beautiful tanks and great products. I follow a lot of threads reading about the hobby :).

The compatibility issue is actually an American problem. Neptune designed their new controller for the AI lights for only a very small portion of the available routers out here. Neptune wrote and designed their hardware and programming and made it totally incompatible with my equipment:(. There are actually several routers that will not work yet- although Neptune said that they are working slowly to rectify the issue. So, if you spend the money on the extra pieces from Neptune, make sure you contact them first.

@Sharisnewreeftank thanks for the headsup, although I have an ApexEL and will be using 2 or 3 Radion XR15's with them. Haven't decided how many yet and I only have one of them bought so far. Neptune plans to make the WXM module obsolete and use the Iota thing like they are on the AI lights. Hope this goes smoothly so I don't need to spend $85 or so on the module.

CO2 scrubber seems to be a good solution for my pH issues. Test running it tonite.

Hi love your setup. I have a very similar setup and was just wondering what level is the water in the return pump chamber for you? I’m staying with the ato my 250 came with but just wanna make sure that it’s working right. Also I plan on also using an Ai prime for the refugium light what settings do you have it on?

I found the apex ph probe reading to be lower than it actually is (yes properly calibrated) I compared it to a Hanna ph tester and the Red Sea ph test and the apex was off by like .4. The temp probe is on point though.

AI just came out with a refugium specific light. I took out the bubble sponge before the return pump. That helps with my setup. And I run the water high, up to just below the divider between the skimmer chamber and the return clamber.

I have been using the APEX to make sure my stability is there, the actual numbers do not matter as much as a stable system and happy coral and fish [emoji225]:).

Really digging the cover where did you get it and for how much? Would you recommend? Look nice. Do you think you could make it work with an Auto feeder? I have young kids so i think a cover is a good idea but want to automate feeding for when i am away.

Love this setup. I just set up a a reefer 250 a few days ago. Two questions are those mp10s or 40s and are you happy with them? Also what kind of clips are those on the doors because I need to have them.

The first coral- an infamous Xenia, I know they can run rampant and act like weeds- is doing fine.

Also going to try the Klir Filter as an APEX timer on off slave to avoid sump modifications. If I roll it every couple of hours, should keep it as clean as a nylon filter sock - I hope . Will fix the wires after I test. [emoji847]

How to do fit the KLIR in the filter sock tray?

New upgrades to the tank today [emoji16] added automatic water changer to stabilize water at all times. Automatic feeder. Still trying to add the hydras and prime to the APEX but Neptune has not quite got the kinks worked out yet.... [emoji30] but hopeful. Put my bubble scrubber on APEX as well as my new Tunze replacement unit. Klir installed on APEX with a timer. Don’t understand why Coralvue and Klir just did not make this thing to work in a timer, it makes no sense otherwise. Totally avoids having to rig an adaptor for the Red Sea reefers and Klir. Automated things, gets rid of socks, and makes sense.
Things overall pretty successful today. [emoji106]

So does putting the klir on a timer trigger advancing the filter roll? It turns the roll whenever power turns on?
can I see your apex programming for the outlet? How often does the power cycle and how much does the roller advance each time?

thanks

Is this a wifi issue? If you connect the apex to a wireless bridge via ethernet does that hide the router interface?

This was on my old system. I have a much bigger system now and use a Clarisea Sk5000 with a basement sump. I don’t have my old programming, so sorry. And yes, the issue was the wireless bridge. But I have that resolved in my new setup. Thanks.
