Hey everyone, how is it going? I just went from 0 to 60 then turned the music up to 11 with my hobby here.

Started out with multiple betta tanks to show the kids some element of responsibility and now I am so delighted with our successes that I have started a tank of my own. Or at least I tried.

I ordered a JBJ RL-45 from marinedepot and had all sorts of rocks sitting in a can for months now ready to introduce to my tank today.. and of course the tank arrived completely smashed to pieces. this is bad timing because I was planning on going on vacation for 10 days starting Thursday... best laid plans for sure.

ANYWAYS!

I have bought quite a bit of equipment for my next RL-45 (coming from a vendor that doesnt try to blame the shipper for "repacking" what should have been a masterpiece of bubblewrap but instead was some paper and tape:

Once I get the unbroken RL-45 I will post new thread highlighting the custom stand and perhaps some of the other cool things I can think of which may or may not help with my goal of recreating finding nemo in 45 gallons (as my kids [and I]) are dead set on. Anyways - live in NoVA.

Talk to everyone Soon!

Not a good start but glad they will replace it and this time I hope with bubble wrap and some prayers.
Mean while read up how to cycle and be ready to test a lot, get some good test kits, redsea, salifert, hanna for alk and Po4
Also be ready to asl a lot of questions.

Welcome home, you will love it here!

Sorry to hear about your first bump in the road. If nothing else this hobby will teach you patience.

Welcome to R2R!
