Building a new stand for MY Bio Cube, Want to put all Apex controls inside the stand, only the display tablet outside. Would you paint or stain inside the stand?

If it were mine, I would prime and then top coat with a good exterior paint. Just my opinion. Nice stand btw

I would, definitely, and use a bright color if that's workable for you. You'd be surprised how much it will make things more visible as you work under the stand, as the light colors will reflect light inside the stand and just brighten it all up.

It also helps to seal the wood to prevent it from absorbing things that may splash/spray onto it, and helps the wood last longer. Like Zach said, use an exterior paint.

Better an open back,
See if you can finish all around the bottom with wood the same as the back, including the front area.
This way you can incorporate a liner of some sort for any water spill. IT WILL HAPPEN!
