Reduce white light intensity and treat with product called ChemiClean which destroys cyano.
In the mean time, lets look for the source. Review what causes this and try to eliminate:
- overfeeding
- use of tap water
- lack of water flow
- inadequate filtration
- lack of or no clean up crew

Let us know what filtration you are using, method of water flow, type of light and your. . . salinity-ph-temperature and feeding schedule.

Thank you. I run a Reef Octopus 300int skimmer, refugium with chaeto, GFO and carbon. I think I need to replace my GFO. I know I overfeed also. Using RODI water, two vectra S2 pumps running returns at 100%, two maxspect gyre xf350s running 80 to 100%, plus one MP40 running reef crest at 100%. Probably about 60 to 70 times volume turnover per hr.
The tank is young and I’ve added a lot of bio load quickly. Any tips welcome tho.

Here is a pic of how it sits in the room (basement, which is my son’s man cave). DIY stand, tank and sump from custom aquariums. My Covid home office chairs on the right. I ran two dedicated 20amp circuits to the support pole to run equipment.
