Ok so I am going to upgrade my 20H to a 40g shallow rimless cube. I am going to transfer everything over from the 20g and use the 20g as a sump. So here are my plans:

Tank: I am going to build it myself with 3/8" thick glass and dow corning 795 silicone. It will be 28inx28inx12in.
Light: 250w 20000k mh pendant from fishneedit.com.
Filtration: 20g sump with live rock and sand and chaeto. Also an Eshopps psk 75 skimmer.
Flow: Mp10, koralia 1 (already have), and my return pump will be an Ehiem 1048.
Heat: 200w visi therm heater. I will add my 50w if the 200 is not enough.

Here is a quick pic on what I want it to be like:

Please tell me what you think :)

I'd go with a better pendant. A lumenmax, lumenarc, lumenbright, etc. Something with more spread. Or else you could have problems with not enough light spread/not enough PAR in the ends of the tank.

I love the idea. I was just thinking the other day about the same concept. I want to transfer over my JBJ to what you have above. I was thinking acrylic sides and starboard bottom. Also I was thinking about making the whole back side the over flow. Just a thought. Keep me posted great idea. Is the light going to be enough to cover the whole tank for coral growth?
