New Tank Start Up Fluval Evo 13.5

I am 7 days away from Day 1 Tank start up! Here is my final draft of my aquascape(made with CaribSea Live Rock) and purchased the Fluval Evo 13.5 Gal. Anyone else have the Evo? Was it your first tank? Any tips?

My plan is to go with the Carib Sea Alive Sand (special grade) Reef Sand as the base.

Then use Dr Tim’s fishless cycle to get thru the nitrogen cycle.

Upgraded light to the Fluval Sea 3.0

Got both InTAnk chamber molds.

After that, I’m planning a refugium in chamber 2.
But on the fence about that. Still researching the pros and cons.

Thank you! I worked hard on the scape, 24 hours later the glue is off my fingers lol.
I’m excited to get started. Read a lot of good things about the EVO and it’s versatility as a intro tank with alot of upgrade capabilities. So that’s why I went with this one.

Nice build i love seeing all the different fluval eve builds good luck i used ai blade grow and hyger pumps as well as in tank media basket looking to upgrade my heater

Just picked up an Evo over the weekend and am struggling to get a scape going so browsing here for ideas and LOVE this one. How does it look from the other two sides? I'm planning to run my tank as a peninsula so trying to account for all the angles is harder than I expected.

Any updates on your tank now a month+ later?

Fellow Fluval Evo owner here. Great scape, and well wishes on your tank. I tried a fuge in the middle chamber and could not get cheato to grow so I just put a few pieces of rubble. I seed with pods and can see them having a party. I really like the Evo, great size and with the right pieces it can grow a beautiful reef.

Would love to see your set up. I started my fluval evo back in August. I am getting coralline algae on my rocks and sand bed now. I definitely did some upgrades on the tank. I would highly recommend getting some copepods from the algae barn or brs. I got the ecopods since they were on sale. It helped with the diatom bloom. The copepods really went to work, the diatom bloom lasted at most 3 weeks.
