New to Saltwater is this a good set up?

I don’t think 600 is a bad deal but count on tossing the sand and the heater because who knows the history in that thing. Back In the day I bought a 6foot 150gallon tank with similar gear and stand for 800. I didn’t regret it and rocked that tank for years. But you never know. Used gear always has a risk…

Yeah the seller said he would toss the sand and I should get new sand for the heater I was planning on throwing it out for sure

Mostly if more equipment would be required and if as a beginner all this would be too much to handle

as a beginner it may be a bit overwhelming but it shouldn’t take long to get used to. most equipment is “set up once and forget about it until you have to clean it”

I think large or small it is still the same learning curve, go for it and good luck!

It's so much easier to deal with a larger tank from the water parameter stability standpoint. It's a lot more forgiving with all the messups one will do in the beginning. Honestly, I think for most it's best to start with the largest you can afford. That's just me. Doesn't mean I'm right.

My first tank was a 50 gallon. My dad and I had so many good times with that tank.
