New to saltwater tanks, can you please help to ID please?

Hello guys,

I’m new to reefing.

Can you help me ID these things;

that long tentacles;

those white spots on the glass (I think it’s hydroids);

these white hair on the live rocks;

that thing on the edge of the rock (I think it’s a pineapple sponge).


And can you tell me if they are bad or not.

If they are bad, what can I do to remove them?

Those white spots look like tiny brittle stars to me probably the same things coming out of your rocks too hopefully they will grow to be big ones be patient is the golden rule of this hobby and that's easily done by just watching the tank

And for the future question all new reefers ask when they see them, the tiny things swimming erratically, and on the glass you will eventually see are called copepods and are a sign of a healthy tank…can’t count the number of times a day I used to see someone posting on fb asking what they were before I finally deleted my account!
