First time sump owner, trying to reduce sound and leaking while continuing use if filter sock. Seems like it's too much pressure from pump for this seal. Anyone have a return line to sock like this? Aquarium is from aqualantis model is aquaview
Actually I had bought the vertical Holder recently, thinking it would be better to keep it vertical. The manufacturer intention I think was to leave sock and tube horizontally on bottom of sump. This way produces too many bubbles and the seal eventually pops. Suggestions?

To deaden sound from water, assure tubing/piping is submersed into the water. if above the water, it will sound like a waterfall. Simply adding a tube or extension will help you accomplish this.

Ya I noticed the noise from waterfall is worse than how it originally was, my last picture is of it was originally, underwater. This is ok until the seal pops in a few hours and lots of bubbles are released from tube. At that point the bubbles don't sound much worse than waterfall.

Those microbubbles in picture are no problem though.

yeah, theyre pouring into the sock which becomes somewhat muffled but a tube further into the sock becomming submersed will silence it

Ok gotcha, I will likely switch the return lines if it happens again. The second overflow line is longer than this one in the sock at the moment

It seems like your sock is getting clogged quickly? If you put the pipe in it should stop the bubbles. You can also find a filter sock holder that can be clamped to the edge of the sump,

For now I reduced pump power to 50 percent from 75. It has solved the problem, when I have more time I'll try switching lines too see if a longer one does the job. The pic is what it's like now, silent

Change out your filter sock more as well. It will help you out in more ways too. Brs did a test with how long it takes to clog and what the recommendation is for changing them out. They said it was 3 days.

The trick was putting the pipe as far down as possible. I was using this donut shaped thing that came with the aquarium , but that was the cause of it overflowing. It's very hard to push the tube past half inch through donut hole too, so Im just going to use it without the donut.

Before I tried this I was debating on cutting the bottom area of sock up and throwing my media.. biopellets and gfo in there. To just use it as a media flow through.. so with this idea I put the biopellets in the sock, as they were really smelling up in the more passive area if the sump I had them in

To use this Holder or not .. guess it's just aesthetics at this point

Don’t just put biopellets inside a filter sock. They can mess up your whole system of one gets out and they need to tumble to work. The other items should also be put inside a reactor and in a pinch you can put it in a bag and high flow area. I don’t recommend this but if needed you can.
