Hello all. I’ve been into saltwater/reef aquariums for the past 16-17 years and have recently had a reinvigorated interest into setting up a couple new systems and some of the new information that has come out. Last I remember we wanted nitrates and phosphates at zero…. Shows how behind the times and lack of keeping up in the hobby I have been. Obviously a lot has changed in the hobby in the past 15 years and I’m excited about some of the new technologies out there to help manage our little ecosystems. I previously had multiple systems set up in my home, but 10 years ago I bought a business, broke my tanks down and set 1 reef system up in the lobby of the business. After recently deciding I have lost the battle to aptasia in my reef tank and deciding it was time to start over, I chose to look into new tanks. I decided on Innovative Marine 200g peninsula for a FOWLR for the lobby and an Innovative Marine 150g lagoon for home reef aquarium. I figured spending less time on system at work and more time on reef at home would increase success. I’ve always been an observer of these sites and never participated but with all the information shared here that I have benefited from, I figured my sharing of experiences could possibly help others and more direct interactions here will continue to help myself. I’ll start the new build threads as well as they occur. Happy reefing!
