been almost 6 months large duncan started with 2 heads, now about 6. My other duncan started with 10 or more now close to 25 heads, they will only show just the tips, but wont fully open

Duncans sometimes are finicky. They like flow...but not too much. They like light, but not too much.
Mine stayed shut for a week till I figured out it had too much direct flow after I switched out a powerhead.
It also closes at the height of my light schedule during the day. My guess is that it uses photosynthesis in the tissue facing the light, but that’s just a guess.
It also closes up the day after I feed it until I blow off some of the slime coating with a turkey baster. Then it opens up wide again in the next hour.
