Hi Everyone,

Just picked up a Rasta Torch cheap on the hopes of recovering it to its full potential. I've recovered other Coral from the brink, however not a Euphyllia. First time for everything eh.

Apart from keeping everything stable stats wise and singing it bedtime stories should i do something else to get it on the road to recovery?

First day after putting it in the tank and the tenticles are out on some of the polyps 3/4. Its been dipped and no pests, so guessing no nutrients or lack of in the tank where it came from?

My stats
130L
Temp - 25c
Salinity - 1.025
dKH - 8.7
Cal - 450
Mag - 1410
NO2 - 0
NO3 - 25
NH3 - 0.5

Give it time is all. Doesn't look like it has any BJD or anything and as long as it has favorable conditions it looks healthy enough it should be able to recover.

I always find the growth pattern interesting in corals.
The other 3 polyps were as withdrawn as the one that's front and centre in the above pictures. Do you think the original Cal-carb skeleton would obstruct the new growth?

A little, probably. They usually grow over the top of the old skeleton rather than re-incorporate.
