OWD - done! :)

I finished today the OWD certification, I'm now a diver Chilli ;Droid

I've shoot some pix but did more videos, if I'm at home I will have a lot of stuff to prepair.

Sorry if I don't answer some questions, you know, I'm in very stressed holidays :D

The corals looks deeper a little better than on the top, but also on bottom of 10-18 meter shows everywhere new healthy corals.

I think to bring a sample of water to test is a good idea!

Tomorrow is the last day where I can dive - we will go to a shark district

Only some pix what I did today

Awesome!
Good luck on your certification.
I'll be back in Belize Saturday... blue hole.

That was a fun trip! I really liked the other two dives on the Blue Hole trip more than the Blue Hole. 142 ft, seven whole minutes at depth and a 10 minute safety stop.

Love the video! Was it just the two of you on the boat?!! That's awesome!I'm impressed with your buoyancy and steadiness for a newbie!

Thanks Salty! It makes a lot fun to fly over the reefs, I have long arms and a stick on my cam what makes easier to film.
We was 3 diver an 2 who drove the boat

I send today a ICP analysis from the Maldivian water to check

I rinsed the 0,5liter bottle good with seawater and fill it about 50 meter from the beach and about a half meter over the bottom to reduce fail measurements.

I'm curious

I'm headed to Grand Cayman 2/1-2/8. Have 16 dives booked and may add another night dive. You've inspired me to bring back a water sample. If I can I may bring two....one from about 20 feet and another from about 75 feet to compare and see if there is any difference.

I tested phosphate, I sold all the other tests i had because i´ve dissolved my tank and wait now to start a new one.

The Hanna Checker HI736 showed me the two results:

Test 1 - 3*3,066:1000 = 0,0091 mg/l PO4
Test 2 - 4*3,066:1000 = 0,0122 mg/l PO4
Ø - 0,010 mg/l PO4

test2.jpg

I am curious about the icp result

My ICP results always match my Hanna ULR phosphorous almost exactly. I've been using Triton for ICP. How do you like the ATI test?

The results of the Maldives water have come and look excellent!
The nutrients are extremely low and the salinity is also lower (33) than our target of 35.
The information is in german but should be self-explanatory. Should there be any questions then you are welcome to ask or to discuss.
I find the results very interesting but have a look for yourself:

On the left is the actual value, on the right is the ideal value (Calculated) according to the laboratory

Mengenelemente : Quantity elements
Spurenelemente : Trace elements
Schadstoffe : Pollutants
Nährstoffe : Nutrients
Basiswerte : Underlying values

The values look very good

I did not mention anywhere that the water temperatures were 30°C at the top and still 29°C at a depth of 10-20 meters.
Which is certainly the main reason for the extreme amount of dead coral.

These numbers are impressive! Like you said, the salinity is a little lower than expected. What an awesome experience you have had! I could only hope to visit there one day. Thanks for being such a reef nerd and testing the waters! :)
