Hello everyone! I've lurked through the years here but have always been too intimidated by saltwater aquariums. I started with FW when I was a kid in the late 80's early 90's and managed to keep the fish alive, but I'm not so sure I knew what I was doing. I kind of lost interest and never went back to it. Fast forward 30 or so years to 2020, my daughter wanted a betta, so I said yeah sure let's get you one! hat 1 gallon betta tank turned into a 10 gallon, then a 29, then a 75, and then a 125 that I still maintain with my cichlids in it. I've always steered clear of saltwater because it just seems over my head, even though I want to give it a shot.

So, I'm finally giving it a shot with a FOWLR. Only basic equipment for now that I had on hand. Maybe I'll get more advanced one day, but for now keeping it simple. Right now this 29g is cycling. Got the rocks from our LFS. Not to keen on them though right now, but I think they'll work out hopefully. I've never felt I was very good with scaping.

Anyways, thanks for reading!

Welcome to the community! I know jumping into saltwater can be daunting and it seems like it's overly complicated, but I think you're jumping into it at the right time (since it seems saltwater has become a lot easier than it was 20+ years ago ha-ha). I personally love that rock scape they gave you. I think you'll enjoy having a fowlr tank, and eventually will want to go bigger. What fish do you plan to stock it with? 🙂
