Welcome fellow Ohioan? Well, that does not look right. I am not originally from Ohio, so not sure what we call ourselves. Anyway....

Welcome, welcome. You have come to a good place. Begin a build when you get stuff going. We love seeing a new tank come together.

Welcome to your new home for saltwater reef aquarium resources and fun! Welcome to the family! :D

Thanks everyone! I've pretty much settled on a ~70g - have the perfect spot for it. The idea I've been playing around with now is the tank itself. I was originally thinking the Red Sea Max E-260, but now heavily considering the Reefer 250. I was planning on upgrading to the sump option down the line anyways (if I got the E-260), so thought it would be better to just go with a sump model in the first place.

No just trying to come up with the best pump, skimmer, powerhead, etc options.

I have my ideas going, stocking plan, etc. if anybody has some insight, I’m stuck between deciding on powerheads.

For a Reefer 250, I’m thinking either a set of two Nero 5, two Gyre XF330, or two Reef2ave 25. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Some of your stocking can determine what flow you need or want. For sps and gorgs you will want a lot of flow. Softies it depends, lps less flow. Unfortunately I am a Tunze person for the most part and do not know those pumps. I did have a gyre pump when it first came out and was useless after a year. I am sure they have improved them since then.

Really look at the tank and where you want the flow to be and how you want it to work. Then consider the animals and maybe that will help decide for you. Good luck!
