Hi

Just bought a Juwel Rio 180. Along with 20kg live rock. Using the standard filter and t5 tubes at the moment but will upgrade to the marine and blue t5 they recommend soon! Installed a couple of wavemakers to provide adequate water movement, these were relatively cheap from allpondsolutions.

Set it up last Saturday with the Juwel Seaskim, but what a noise! You could hear it from the other end of the house! Needless to say I've sent that back! And traded it in for a Tunze 9004 which I've installed today! What a quiet running skimmer!

Here are the pics from a week later! The man at the LFS gave us a Damselfish to hurry the cycle along!

I presume I just wait now until the levels are at 0? Then I'll know my cycle has finished and I can begin stocking with a clean up crew! Followed by some clowns!

The live rock has changed so much in just a week!

Welcome to R2R;)
Start the cycle: DO NOT ADD LIVE ANIMALS. All you need is a pinch of fish food or an uncooked table shrimp. The table shrimp works because you can monitor its progress as it rots.
