Hello guys,
I have not had a tank in over 25 years.
Just got a second hand reef, it's a aquaone 120 (30G).
We moved it 2 days ago and everything seems to have settled back in quite quickly.
I have found a few aptasia in the tank, but think I have them under control with pepermint shrimp, but have ordered some aptasiax. (I live about a thousand miles from a decent aquarium shop)
The main worry I have in the tank at the moment is that there is super fine white slime in the tank.

Is this normal or is something wrong?

Hello and welcome to R2R! People here are friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help. Hopefully you’ll start a build thread. We’d love to see your build as it progresses.

Don’t worry too much about the slime. The move probably stirred things up a bit and you had a small ammonia spike. The slime will disappear most likely within a couple of days.

Thanks for all the friendly welcomes and advice.
I will do a build post tomorrow.
The biggest shock so far for me has been how little live stock there seems to be in Western Australia.
For example, I cannot find any pepermint shrimp anywhere.

Welcome and Welcome Back! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in Karratha (Australia?):

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
