Newer Maxspect gyre DIY control cable for apex?

Anyone attempt an apex V port control cable for the newer 300 series gyres? I would love a more finite control over my gyres instead of the 10% increments offered by the controller and icv6 controller. That's the one thing I miss about running Tunze pumps with my apex, an infinite number of programs and control.
I guess one can dream.
