So I want to add another fish to my mixed reef/fish display. I'm thinking a pair of Sunburst Anthias or 1 Tomini Tang. What do you all think? I added photos to show my tank and fish I have. It's a 60 gallon cube

I had a pair of sunburst for a long time. They’re a great addition. The tomini is a good tang selection because they’re a smaller species. It’s important to remember sunburst are more like borbonis anthias than ‘typical’ anthias in their feeding, activity and behavior.

If you have a fuge I vote the anthias. They need to constantly eat, so if you don't have a fuge they'll wither away.

I have plenty of pods, but my Green Mandarin dragon eats the pods in between frozen spirulina brine shrimp feedings. Will the Anthias do the same eat frozen and pods in between feedings?

How do Sunburst differ from the typical Anthias?

Most anthias (generally) require multiple daily feedings due to their higher metabolism, sunburst and borbounis can eat more food and get by on single feedings a day. They also tend to be more solitary, though if you introduce a few sunburst at the same time they’ll be fine. Most other anthias do better in schools and (generally) don’t do as well singularly.

I would do a sunburst. Their colors are gorgeous and I had one for a few years and did not find it difficult to care for. It was with peaceful fish. They are a hawk type anthia so more hovering and around their cave and don’t need to eat quite as often as other.

I don’t find tangs to be early as attractive. The neon pink and yellow and headbars of a sunburst are just awesome.

I'm leaning towards getting the pair of Sunburst Anthias. I like the colors, and grumpy face

They are already paired up, they been at the local fish store and are the only two in the tank so they won't change again.

I was pointing out they actually 2 different types of fish though they use the same name in the aquarium trade.

That was explained better in the article than by me.
