Nitrate Reactor VS. Macroalgae Reactor

So Im looking into getting something to keep my nitrates down and Ive read nothing but wonderful magical things about the Korallin Nitrate Reactor

Depends on what your parameters are at. If your nitrates are overly high compared to phosphate, than the nitrate reactor is the way to go.
However, if your phosphates and nitrates are in a good ratio, it's better to use a algae reactor so you don't throw off that balance.
What are your parameters?

Phos is .028 and Nitrate is around 7/8

An algae reactor is the way to go, while nitrate reactors do work they are tricky. The flow needs to be really slow and the media will reach a saturation point. When this happens your nitrates will literally shoot up over night and the media needs to be replaced.
