I have a 75 gallon tank that’s cycling and in the meanwhile I’m trying to create a stocking schedule but everywhere I go people say different things But I have found some common denominators
1 add clown fish middle to last because they territorial
2 CUC first, but not all at once
3. Add wrasse at the same time.

These are the fish (or should I say creatures as some invertebrates and corals?)
  • Ocellaris Clownfish (x2)
  • Royal Gramma
  • Ruby Finned Fairy Wrasse (male)
  • Orange Stripe Cardinalfish
  • Firefish Goby
  • Rosy-Scale Wrasse
  • Flame Angelfish
  • Yellow Watchman Goby (x2)
  • Tomini Tang
  • Cleaner Shrimp (x1)
  • Tiger Pistol Shrimp (x1)
  • Peppermint Shrimp (x3)
  • Scarlet Hermit Crabs (x3)
  • Emerald Crab (x1)
  • Tuxedo Urchin (x1)
  • Bumblebee Snails (x4)
  • Trochus Snails (x7)
  • Cerith Snails (x6)
  • Nassarius Snails (x9)
  • Fighting Conchs (x3)
  • Micro Brittle Starfish (x10)
  • Kenya Tree Coral
  • Green Star Polyps
  • Zoanthids (Red & Green Bouquet, Bloodshot)
  • HML Black Plague Mushroom
  • HML Toxic Green Rhodactis
  • HML Oddball Splatter Double Hammer Coral
  • Clove Polyps (Clove Daisy Polyp Coral)
  • Toadstool Leather Coral
  • Tridacna derasa (Derasa Clam)

Inverts and corals don't have much bioload so can be added at any time. But if the tank is empty and you add cuc , they might die of hunger.

IMO get herbivore cuc when you start to see algae and increase the number as algae increases. Omnivores can be added as fish are added to eat any leftover food that the fish miss.

Corals should be added when you are able to maintain stable water parameters.

I would add maybe 2 small fish once monthly, give the tank time to adjust to every new bio load addition.

If you QT all of your fish and corals, that would provide a de facto 'pacing' schedule right there. Also, if you drop in the Tomini Tang and the Flame Angel into your DT at the same time, they will probably sort out their favorite spots together. (You could QT them together in a proper size tank, with an egg crate divider. Just watch your ammonia levels.)

when it comes to fish id probably go in the order of

  1. firefish
  2. cardinal fish
  3. royal gramma
  4. clowns
  5. wrasse + tang
thats just what I would do, others may disagree. Although your first fish should be the firefish for sure

Thank you, would love to hear others opinions as well. I heard royal grammas are very shy and should be added quickly so they can establish their territory without others

they can be super shy, problem comes when they establish territory they can then get aggressive with any new tank mates. Larger free swimming fish shouldn't be much of a concern to them, thats why I suggest adding the fairefish and cardinals first

Thank you for your help, also how often should I add each fish, once per 2 weeks? Also, when should I add corals. I heard that I can add them whenever as long as my alkalinity, magnesium, etc are in the right range. Is this true or do I need to wait a certain amount of time?

Every addition brings the possibility of an unwanted hitchhiker or disease that can really change the focus of the set up to focus upon dealing with the results of the unwanted addition.

Adding corals and crabs first and letting the system fallow for Ich before fish additions is an interesting concept, but as others mentioned the cuc needs food.

Interesting, so theatrically I can add corals and cuc in first but remember to feed the cuc until I add fish?

The hammer would like to catch fish waste or target feed, and cuc will appreciate some sinking pellets until the fishes going. I would recommend good pelleted carbon as a filter to catch soft coral toxins as they like to release poison in the water to keep other corals at bay.

Ok, so I should add the corals and target feed ones that require that then broadcast feed the rest of the corals. Additionally I should feed the cuc sinking pellets till noticeable algae or other natural cuc food?
