Hi all,
So I started my tank (75g 29g sump) around 3 years ago.Within months I was absolutely loaded with pods from adding frags. ( I used dry reef rock). Well after 3 years, I was looking at the tank last night, and could see zero pods, and I recall after taking most of my rock out to scrub it for algae, I also do not remember seeing any stray pods.
I have a fire fish, and a Bangai Cardinal fish that I suppose could have wiped them out but I just thought it was strange not to see any. Maybe I need some rock in my sump so they have a refuge? I guess I need to add some pods...does anyone suggest the best ones to purchase that will multiply in the long run?

Thanks!
Mike

One downfall of keeping a super clean tank is a smaller pod population. And clean up crew too.
Not enough food smaller population.

Adding won't help in the long run as they will suffer the same fate.
I have pod eaters. To bolster my population I sprinkle Spirulina flakes and coral frenzy on the top of my Chato.

So if you have a smaller pod population it may mean you don't need one.

Have you been feeding phyto? I've heard that pod populations can suffer if you're not adding phyto regularly to keep them fed and happy.

My tank is nothing but pods...

Had no clue you could have zero pods.

Odd.
