tank is now running 6 months. rock and sand came direct from the gulf, in water. no die off. corals and fish doing great. fudge is full of micro algae types. I have yet to see 1 pod of any type. even when I remove overgrowth from the fudge. I thought by now I should see some??

What kind of fish are you keeping? I thought I had very little to no pod population until velvet wiped out my fish and I've had to have my tank empty for the last 6 weeks. There was a ton of pods in the tank on the second week without fish.

I have the same problem. I suspect high flow and carbon dosing is killing them in my tank.
