I don't know if you are familiar with Kickstarter, but there is this new idea on there that I'm starting to see a lot. It's called aquaponics, and basically you have plants growing on top of the tank, taking in the fish waste and nitrates. Now I am starting to see this on freshwater tanks, but what about saltwater? Any ideas???

I've seen this with beta tanks, but not much more. Having a plant growing on top of your tank would block light in the tank making it hard to see your expensive pretty fish and making growing corals impossible. Having said that, this is what your refugium is for. :)

Yup, its called a Fuge full of Cheato, or Magroves, or bunches of Macro Alagae and Marine plants. Used very often in this hobby.
