“Needs to” is such a controversial term. My industry doesn’t need to exist any more than any “entertainment” industry needs to exist. If gambling as a whole suddenly ended our society would be better off for it, however as long as gambling still exists then the job of regulators to make sure everyone is treated fairly is a necessary thing.

When is for entertainment, is one thing. I see little problem with it. In fact I've played a few times but I prefer losing money to coral vendors.
Gaming regulation should definitely be third party, that's for you.
