48"×24"×21.7" SPS tank with noopsyche hybrid P1802 (1*AP700+2*K7 Pro II) Long-term use
My tank is 48" so I'm using 54W bulbs.
Important info:
1. P1802 LED mounting legs are the same size, it is 205mm height.
2. Hybrid P1802 can fit K7 Pro2, so you just need to buy lamp house P1802.
3. P1802 can fit K7, AI26, AI52, XR30, XR15, AP700.
(Measure your lights to be sure. Manufacturer’s specifications can change.)
Background:
First tank establish from 2016 with LPS. Last year can't wait to upgrade my tank, so I have my 36" tank Oct, 2018. I bought SPS and use K7+AP700. Six months later, my SPS state was getting worse, losing color, so I want to replace with new light, I was thinking XR30 or t5(8 blubs), coral still getting worse so I was thinking a new light would help.
In the market, most retrofit lights don’t look nice.
I heard that noopsyche was coming out the new hybrid soon, so I was waiting for the new hybrid. The reason why I decided against the XR30 is cost, and want to avoid shadows. My local store can had a solution but it costs lots of money and I can't afford it. The store's display tank is 60"×40", he use 8 units Radion XR. The owner said he didn’t use the 8 bulb T5 because the retrofit would be coming out soon.
I saw the new hybrid event on the forum and I entered, I was thinking I might not be the lucky winner, I contacted customer service and wanted to buy hybrid P1802. I use two K7 on both side, AP700 in the middle, four t5 bulbs. Perfect!! I bought two K7, customer service told me it don't need to buy a controller because it is built in to the P1802, awesome! This makes it even more affordable.
Received noopsyche hybrid P1802 next day.
The package is really big, when I try to put it in my car, I needed to put down rear seat to fit it in.
Mounting need to notice two details:
You need to remove protective film from reflectors!!! It is a transparent blue film, and after it is torn off you see the bright silver reflector.
Waterproof:
Remove film from both side, you can find it transparent than before.
Mounting finished, perfect! Like a custom hybrid fixture.
noopsyche P1802 have two things very good mounting options. One is hanging pendant, this allows easy movement for access to the aquarium and can be taken down if needed. Very nice!
New version of P1802 like the photo shown, after I read the manual and learned how to install it. It’s designed use on the tank rim not sitting on the cover glass. You need to measure the distance between the two legs.

The next step is to wait, wait for the color increase ~ some of the current sad SPS, it color is quite poor, I believe this is caused by poor lighting.
If you look careful you can find that coral's shadow is very clear, in person it looks worse.
Hope it can increase color after this adjustment.
