Nori -- what kind -- what do you feed -- does it matter

have you found that green, red or even brown nori has gotten your fish to eat more of it -or does it matter once they find it and eat? is there any value/difference in feeding different types of nori?

or is nori just nori in most cases ?

Green has been the most successful for me. Nothing would touch the red or purple in my tank.

They no longer make the fishes favourite I am waiting to try some made for making sushi got it off amazon

The only thing I look for is to make sure its dried and not roasted.
This is what I've been feeding for the last 20 months. Fish all love it and it's much cheaper than the nori sold as fish food. Its 50 full sheets, many i see are half sheets

Me too still have a stash of Omega One to use was hoping it will come back same as my bulk flake food

Just raw organic stuff i can buy on Amazon - I try to get 50-100 sheets at a time.

Its sooo much cheaper than the 'proper fish shop' stuff, and my fish love it!

The only main difference is that the stuff designed for fish has the extra items in it like garlic etc.

I never really noticed a difference between roasted and raw also...fish smashed it the same.

I use the same nori form my tangs, they love it. When I buy stuff from saltwateraquarium I try to get the free algae sheets that reef nutrition makes? Has the garlic and all that. They eat that as well. Took them a few minutes tho. They went to tear up the nori and they got close and was like what the heck is this stuff. After a few mins they gave it a try, then they tore it up like they do the nori.

I was told that with roasting the heat removes nutrients that drying doesn't. It made sense because cooking human food and even dog food removes much of the good nutrition vs feeding raw or dehydrated food. I did feed roasted nori for a long time with no issues.
I like to add selcon and vitachem to the nori once in a while. I have no proof it helps but figure it can't hurt so I continue.

Makes sense!

The un-roasted stuff is harder to find here in Aus, so just never stuck with it. :-) (Plus it means i can use the same sheets to make sushi at home haha)
