Hello,

I’m just to buy a waterbox rather big aquarium. I had thought about infinita reef 190.5 (517 L on display + 179 L sump) or 230.6 (632L on display + 192L sump). I’ve always had nanos and for the first time in my life I want to go big and keep big fish. However, I live in a penthouse and I’m afraid that the aquarium could be too heavy (close to a tone if we count the volume of display + sump + weight of the enclosure). That’s why I’m thinking about getting tanks with same lenght but Frag version since that way the tank would have the same Length but would be less heavy. So, my question is, are there fish that require the aquarium to be deeper or should them do okay as the length is good ? I’ve seen tangs usually being kept in frags so they don’t seem to care too much about the deep, but may other fish do not good ? I’d like to keep Fish like Pomacanthus imperator or narvachus, Moorish idols and some Acanthurus and other tangs. To sum up, will getting a frag instead a standard model entail any sort of limitation ?
Thanks,
Regards.

Even within specific species, fish have personalities that effect behavior. And sometimes as juveniles age their personalities change dramatically.

If you can locate your tank, next to a structure bearing wall, there should be no problem. Check with building code in your city.

My guess is I’d avoid tangs and angels. They get big and love to swim in water columns. Dwarf angels would be fine I think, but they also limit you to non timid tank mates as they have a reputation of being jerks. Lots of options besides tangs and angels though.
