I am building a salt mixing station and re purposing my Sicce pump. It has threaded Female 3/4" NPT inlet and outlet. I want to mate the pump to 3/4" PVC sch 40. Is there a better way to do this other than using a threaded barb on the pump to a flex line to a barb glued into the PVC? See the links below to the barbs.

What is the correct terminology for a threaded 3/4"NPT to PVC adapter?

In the plumbing industry they are called male adapters and female adapters.
