Nudibranch ID - bright red, very small

Who knows what this little guy is? I'm no nudibranch expert :)

It is about 1/8 of an inch long.

Did you pull I off of some red Zoas? Zoa eating nudis often take the color of the zoa they eat to avoid detetection

Just on the rock. No where near any zoanthids. But no red softies at all.

Definitely has two antennae or rhinophores in the front.

Personally, I would pull it. Very few GOOD Nudis in a reef tank...

It is absolutely amazing what can make it through a rigorous quarantine and dip process. I'm wondering if this came in on the "live" boat rock since I didn't dip that. Just left it in quarantine system for 76 days before promoting it to the sump after not seeing any unwanted specimens.

Not a Nudibranch but a Sea Slug, The difference from the two are the fact that Nudibranch have those little "gills" but sea slugs don't have their exposed, He should be safe in your aquarium

It is a nudibranch. Dorids like these have retractable branchial plumes

I know this is an old thread but I’m resurrecting it because I think I have one of these as well? I just pulled a Monti frag to reposition it and this guy was under it. He’s smooth and doesn’t have the frilly sides like a berghia, zoa eating nudi or Monti eating nudi. He does have the two black lines on his back and the “wings” of sea slugs. I was just looking at him in my hand before I put him in the cup so I got a really good close up view, I just wish my camera could get a better pic.
Does anyone think I can safely let him back in my tank?

That one is a sacoglossan slug called Elysia obtusa. They feed primarily on siphonaceous/filamentous green algae. Safe to put in your tank, although if the population doesn't breed they tend to die off after a few weeks

Oooh I think mine was also Elysia obtusa. Couldn't get an ID when I posted.
