Hello! Rather new to the hobby here but my tank has been running for just over 6 months. I’ve had coral for almost 3 months. Went through a few different ugly stages already. I thought things were finally calming down where everything was clean again for almost a month and everyone has been happy. My corals have been growing and multiplying rather quickly, However for the past 30 days or so I have been battling with this brown/green hair algae looking stuff. I’m sure it will go away on its own but my real question is to why it’s not growing on two of my center scape rocks you can see in the photos…. It’s just so odd to me. Any suggestions on how to help get rid of it or why it’s not growing in the spot mentioned is welcomed. I’ve tried manual removal but it just comes back with a vengeance

And all the coral as seen.

Phos/nit 0 (I think this is because algae is consuming it faster than it can be detected. It used to be trace amounts here and there.)

Welcome to the club!
Unfortunately I do not have a miracle substance to recommend , which would eradicate your problem.
Paraphrasing saying that picture speaks thousand words, here it is- Video speaks million words.

This one is by Rich Ross and In my opinion absolute must to watch by both new and experienced reefers.

@bushdoc thanks for sharing that video! Absolutely amazing and I definitely like his approach. So calm and not ”nit picking“ about things.
