I got this sometime ago but had several moves due to employment. I finally got it set up 2/25 . I have two fire clowns, a goby , 2 urchins , few snails and 4 coral frags. All the viral are doing week except the flava coral . I think that the name of it . Is it bleached or dead ? All the other frags seems to be doing well. I think one of the urchins had a snack attack as it crawled over it . It bleached out within hours after that. Water parameters seem fine and I use RODI water that I mix with instant ocean reef crystals .

Yeah it looks dead to me. Algae seems to be the only thing growing on it.

To be sure, shine a blue flashlight or UV flashlight (if you have) on it. If it is not fluorescent, it's definitely gone.

it doesn't florescent under any of my tank light settings. All the others do.I notice the algae. I am disappointed by losing that coral.

I am sorry to hear that. Some corals like that do not like the sandbed and get irritated by sand. Always check on placement information before adding to the tank.

Thanks for that info. I ask so many question when I got them, even placement.I got the standard flow, light, feeding habits but the sand bed wasn't a topic that came up. Live and learn. Ant input on the others would be appreciated.

Mushroom are better close to the rocks because they want to move. The hammer looks ok but just make sure it's getting not too much strong flow. It likes low to medium flow. Zoas you can mount on the rock to spread around the rock.

Coral are a bit like gambling, sometimes you win sometimes you loose even if you do everything right. Often certain coral just don't do well in some tanks. I have coral that will die in one tank and thrive in another even with similar parameters and lighting. After 9 years in the hobby I have a fairly long list of coral I can't keep alive in any tanks and not all are what's considered difficult. Pulsing Xenia always comes to mind. They just melt in my tanks.
