Hospital/Quarantine tank is setup. Caught the chromis and is in there. Starting Seachem Cupramine today and going to treat him to be safe. The DT will be going fallow to eradicate all the Ich.

It’s been a long time since I posted. My tank has been fallow for quite some time. Yesterday I added two clowns. One mocha and one black and white. Time to get this tank going again.

Parameters are excellent. Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates are all at 0. I have been feeding the tank while fallow for the inverts and also to keep the bacteria fed.

I love the dimensions on this, probably the best for a nano tank I saw when I was in that phase of my reef career. Hope to see an update on this :)

Sorry for the lack of updates on this. Been very busy the last couple months with work and moving.

Update on the tank:

Haven’t added any coral, fish or inverts, since I knew I would be moving.

I moved the tank about 3 weeks ago. Complete tear down, and relocated it about 6 miles to our new home. Process took about 3-4 hours. Everything survived and is doing well, other than a few crabs or snails.

GSP is the only coral and it has been flourishing. It is approximately 4 times the size of when I got it and about to completely take over the island rock it is on

The rockscape has taken on a new design due to taking it down to move. Not sure what I think yet. I like the larger tunnel on the right side, but is covered mostly by the island. Going to be looking at how to move some stuff around.

Going to be adding coral this week. I have some orange, purple and green monti, yumas, orange setosa, green digita, and a couple hammer to add that I’m getting later this week.

I also sold the Ethereal and got 2 AI Prime HD lights to give better coverage. The Ethereal is a great light but only had a 30” spread. The tank is 36”. Two of the AI Prime HD lights are providing much better coverage and does not have the drop off on the sides of the tank.

Excuse the amount of blue. The lights are just turning on for the day.

Now that I am settled and the tank will not be moved it will be time to add corals and more fish.

What are your thoughts on fish? Haven’t nailed down exactly what I want yet. I am open to your ideas as well.

How do you like your tank so far? I am thinking about picking one up. Would you recommend it?

Been working on stock plans. I want to get a small flame angel (which will then transfer to a 120 that I’m going to setup as it grows). Also looking at getting a wrasse and/or goby. Haven’t decided. Open to ideas

As far as filtration, I have the Tunze 9004 skimmer in the far left chamber, the next I have the IM Media Reactor with GFO. Lots of rubble in the return chamber, the next on the right has phosguard and rubble and the far right has the upgraded media basket with rubble, charcoal and Purigen with filter floss on top.

How do you like the skimmer?

I just bought this same tank and I am debating between the Tunze or the Aquamaxx HOB 1.5.

I like it. It works pretty good for a nano. I like that it fits in the outside compartment and doesn’t need to be HOB.
